Seven years ago, I was living in London when the city won the honor of hosting the 2012 Olympic games, beating out Paris, New York, Moscow and Madrid. My London colleagues were incensed by the news and threatened to move (or take a long holiday) to avoid the flood of visitors who would overtake the town for two weeks. I don’t usually gravitate toward crowds, sports or spectacles myself, but I love certain traditions and believe that if you try and work hard, you can accomplish amazing things. So I’ll be tuning in tomorrow for nothing else but to feel like a kid again.
